Ministry that handles archaeological say they have used radar scanner to gather more information about the theory.
Archaeologist Nicholas Reeves believes the remains of Tutankhamun probably hastily placed in the outer space of a cemetery that was originally the tomb of Queen Nefertiti.
Tutankhamun's remains, which may be the son of Queen Nefertiti, discovered in 1922.
He died 3,000 years ago at the age of 19 years.
"It is clear from the tomb evidence radar beam as it still has space behind it, as I expected," Reeves said at a news conference with Egyptian Antiquities Affairs Minister Mamdouh al-Damati on Saturday (28/11), as reported by AFP.
"Radar behind the north wall (from the tomb of Tutankhamun space) seems clear enough. If I am correct it is a continuation of the tomb corridor, which will end up in the other tomb," he said.
Damati said current results of the investigation will be sent to Japan for further analysis.
Dr. Reeves developed his theory after a Spanish company with a focus on cultural preservation, Factum Arte, was commissioned to produce a report on the tomb of Tutankhamun.
